I'd say 95% people here for zSilvers against 5% who would be here even without rewards. Am I wrong ?
Yup, because people were here before zsilver and Razer has always had a fairly large userbase. They do make nice products.
Meh, I don't even run Cortex. I just come here to run through the forum and look for interesting threads.
I've been coming here and I wasn't earning zsilver rewards myself under the old system. I was getting my zsilver from the 40 zsilver bonus from logging in, and whatever overwatch my son would play which I had to beg him to do because he said that while he liked the game itself, he didn't like the community because it's full of bullies, trolls and jerks.
So I voted "yep, I'd be here".
then you are missing out on a lot, since you are here, might as well you know
I am probably like many who have been here since before the zCurrency was around - I came to the community out of interest, stayed originally for the Rewards, and then stayed long-term for the community itself. The zCurrency system is still a great idea, but I think that a lot more could be done with it. zGold would be nothing without zSilver, so of course they have to go hand-in-hand, but making zGold only usable on a few game-selling sites is probably the reason that people are having such a row over the new Paid-to-Play system.
In my honest opinion, they can keep the Paid-to-Play system as is (as of August), and even lessen the amount that you can earn every day, as I think that the less that they give away — until they find a way to stop the AFK zSilver farmers — the more it will be an actual REWARD.
I also think that the best way to REWARD Razer fans who love buying and using their products, is to make zGold usable in the RazerStore online to buy Razer gear, and to award appropriate amounts of zSilver based on how much zGold is spend per transaction. Buy from the Razer Store with zGold: earn zSilver. Buy from another seller, no zSilver.
not really , its not even worth to waste time on posting for zSilver rewards xD
Im join there after buying a razer keyboard, because im want to meet other razer users and improve my english ;p
But I can't say I did not use old razer insider reward system.
(btw press Nope by mistake )
Being honest. I'm here for the zSilver too. But then it became interesting to be here. Reading and writing posts. Helping people out. It's fun after all.
What would I be doing if I don't come here and read posts? Browsing catto photos?
I think it would be good to allow the zGold on Razerstore, I even think its a paradox, "You can use Razer's zGold InGame, or to buy games on Gamersgate, but you can't buy a Razer's peripheral with Razer's zGold!"
Razer should do it, to Actually Reward those who are into the Razer Cult, but they also should continue the others solutions for those who are not able to actually buy something from Razer.
The problem with the zSilvers is that the value starts to degrade as you go up the tiers of purchases. For example if you purchase the $5 coupon for product the price for it is 1,500 zSilvers which doing the math makes it 300 zSilvers to $1 USD or if you invert it, it becomes 1 zSilver equals the value of $0.003. Now if you move up 1 tier to even just purchase a $10 Product Coupon, the value of the zSilver decreases even more to 5,000 zSilvers to purchase which by doing the math drops the value to 500 zSilver to $1 USD or 1 zSilver = 0.002! And don't get me started on actual product. For example, if you wanted to purchase a Metallic Keycap that is worth $30 you would need 39,000 zSilver which farther degrades the value of the zSilvers to 1,300 zSilvers to $1USD or $0.0007 for each zSilver.........Do you see what's wrong with this? Like yeah I get it, you are getting free stuff but CMON the higher the tier the more points you have to spend which then drops the value of the zSilver
I don't agree with you, the only thing I see is:
You can buy Razer's peripherals for nearly free (just pay the shipping costs) with time and motivation.
And this is a great gift that Razer offers to the community.
I completely agree with you on that one, hence why I said "you get free stuff just for playing" but I just noticed the value drop exponentially the higher the value gets
I was here before the currency, I think I was first here for the giveaways, and then I felt in love with their products and this community. However, a big secret that I've said once on Insider is that I did do AFK zSilver until I got the mug xD, now I just think of zsilver as a bonus when ever I play games (and with the new system, it's a good way of trying out new games). And I think you zGold to buy gear idea is great!!!
I was but with all the easy achievements gone, I now check for interesting stuff.
So I made my account on Insider primarily because of some Beta Giveaway they were doing back when they first launched the Razer Nabu (1st Edition). But then I left since there was nothing of interest in the initial phases of this forum. I returned for the Rewards program that Razer had going around and I must say the rewards were easy to get and good value since you had to order something with them to redeem them.
But yeah TLDR version, even people who were here before the zSilver system were primarily here for either the Rewards program that used to be or because they are a Developer/Community Dev that had development for the Nabu or the Chroma SDK in mind, almost forgot the OSVR headset as well.
I would love some free stuff, but after I had some lag issues running cortex. I try not to run it in competition mode anymore. At first I thought it was my rig, but after closing cortex my ms dropped by half.
I'll be honest. I never knew it existed before coming to the forums just over a month ago
I have just over 4 gs after a month worth of playing and posting. That probably should give you the answer to that.
Anyhow, I just like the Razer brand in general and what they do for the community. That's why I bought into them and as a Diehard fan of MSI..left them behind.
As a few people pointed out, You wont see anything like this for what they do for the customer from any other brand on the market today. They might be on the higher side of price point but they have overall great customer service. From Razer staff on the forums, help desk, and the obvious topic...what they created for their fan base. (Zsilver/Zgold). Along side with great products, I believe it really balances itself out.
I agree with @PTSinger on his earlier post in regards of doing something about the afk farmers. That's abusing the system that is meant to actually enjoy what you do (gaming) and earn through qualified games as their choosing.
I just wished many of the users that play, actually realize what Razer is doing for them. Thats my 2 cents.
You did take the smaller examples...and it doesnt degrade as you go up. Refer to the recent thread made by @zcr07 that did all the math for your viewing pleasure. https://insider.razerzone.com/index.php?threads/zsilver-rewards-values.25156/
Been here since CES giveaway 2015 so practically joined for the giveaway but now I'm just a forum dweller
when i first joined there was no such thing as zSilver, i just was here to have fun or answer a question. To be honest, I myself don't even use the zsilver system. I kinda feel like the quality of the posts went down after the zsilver thing. idk
i have been here since 2015
I was already using a few Razer products and I got an e-mail to beta a new Razer forum, that was nearly 4 years ago. I got on, liked the people and had a lot of fun hanging out with others who enjoyed their Razer products as much as I do. I've stuck around ever since, whether they had rewards or not. I'm not here for zSilver, I'm here because I share a common interest with others and I want to help make the community the best it can be.
