I'm guessing most users here are super familiar with the website YouTube, and that there are loads of content creators uploading live recordings of their gameplay. Imagine your favourite gaming channel, or let's-player, I'm guessing they're cranking out some super polished and quality content, right? Well, what if they weren't? I have a question for the general userbase, I'm sure answers will vary, but as someone who has heavily considered recording gameplay with live commentary, I gotta ask: Are Keyboard typing noises more intrusive than Mouse clicks when watching a video? Which would you find more distracting while watching a video of a game being played? My microphone lacks a stand, see, and because of that, I'm left with a limited number of positions on my desk. I can't have it getting in the way of my keyboard, nor my mouse, and I certainly don't want it too close to my face so as not to distort the audio recordings. My USB microphone picks up my mouseclicks very clearly, and I think I'm going to have to be left with the choice between which piece of equipment makes the loudest noises based on the positioning of my microphone. It'll pick up both of them regardless, but one will always be closer to the microphone. Does it depend on the mouse/keyboard itself? At the moment, I'm using a standard office keyboard and mouse. Both very cheap and both rather boring. Neither are particularly loud, but they are still noticeable. But, personally, which idea sounds the most like one you'd be distracted by or consider disruptive while you're trying to focus on the commentary/gameplay? Anyone already creating content who knows anything I can do pre-recording and post-recording to nullify said noises is also incredibly welcomed and appreciated.
