He might have contacted support. It may have just taken this long for someone to e-mail him back and say to send his log files so they can take another 2 weeks and then tell him to reset his computer to factory default....

Hello all. I am new to this site. Quick question...have you guys been able to upgrade windows to the Falls Creators Version? if so, how does it work for you? I too have a 2017 Razer Blade by the way.

Just check your battery life before and after, because I saw some users reporting worst battery life after FCU, and just checked it, the battery life on watching live video was only 3 hours compared before update over 5 hours, might be some default battery setting but I don’t have time to tweaking the battery so I rolled it back again to 1703 and see if I get my previous battery life. I didn’t check it before because recently i rarely bring it outside.
Edit: yes for me 1709(FCU) is Battery eater, got 1 hours more with 1703, if I didn’t use Bluetooth on Lancehead and no mini USB flash disk plugged i think I could get 5 hours watching live channels.

Thanks for your input. I do like my battery life. I am not in a hurry to update yet anyway. I'll continue reading on this and update when it's better for me.

    Hello guys,
does someone use a 240Hz monitor with his blade? I´ve bought the Acer Predator XB252Q but didn´t receive it till now and I want to be prepared for it. I tried to use a 144 Hz 1080p monitor over HDMI but it didn´t work. It constantly droped down to 60 Hz when I was trying to set it to 120 Hz (it only showed me 120 Hz for max Hz). Is it only possible to use monitors with a higher Hz than 60 over the USB Type-C port? I read that I could use the HDMI port for such a setup (240Hz/1080p) if the monitor supports HDMI 2.0 but now I´m a little bit confused after trying it over HDMI with a 144Hz.

On display property I can’t also set to 144Hz only max 120, but on games, actually it supports also 144hz tried on AC Origins, I think other games like Destiny 2 also, is can get over 120Hz but not stable (it’s also due the game, and I think also non G-Sync). Tested on LG24GM79, 1080p 144Hz Monitor via Blades HDMI, didn’t test USB C yet because I don’t have the right adapter but I through USBC docking station that has HDMI port, I could only get 60Hz.

Okay, thanks for sharing. I´ll give an update when my monitor arrives.

hello everybody, i m a new razer customer, i have bought the new Blade 14 4K laptop with i7 processor (RZ09-01953E53) but the problem is that the fans are doing too much noise also with a very normal usage.
I search in the forum and i found that the Blade 2016 had the same problems and there was a firmware upgrade to fix this problem. There is something for the New Blade 2017? i didn't find anything

What kind of normal usage? I’m pretty sure the difference between FHD and 4K is only on its display, my FHD is silent on paperwork, web browsing and entertainment on native resolution, maybe if you play 4K content maybe it’ll kick but not disturbing me when I play 4K on an external monitor. There’s no firmware update for the 2017 model as I know only late 2016, and don’t use the update if you found it somewhere. Try playing around with Fan setting on synapse I’m on balance but sometimes if I want a bit silent on game I put it on low profile but I’m monitoring the CPU temperature to not across 81, but for some demanding games I’ve to put it on high to get lower temperature as possible.

Thank you Joika for the answer.
I mean very very normal usage like browsing, paperwork, ( No 4K content or heavy softwares ) or also only to open a folder the fans start to do noise like if i'm opening a sfotware.... Also after i have switch on the PC immidiatly after the starting of the operating system the fans start do to noise. If there is a precise topic i can upload a Video.
    Thank you

Hi ppl, I'm Jeff from Brazil, first of all, sorry my bad english.
i'm bought a Blade "14 2017 and I'm very frustrated with this error:
    - GPU GTX 1060 have an error message - error 43.
I spent the weekend looking for a solution and I tried dozens, but I didnt succeed.

1 - Update Windows to lastest version.
2 - Tried to update Nvidia drivers but if I use the lastest one 390.** occur a resset and before open W10, resset again, infinitely.
3 - I did a fresh W10 Pro installation, and full updated too.
4 - I tried to use older drivers, but none helped to remove error 43.
5 - I tried to open Nvidia Control center too, but didnt opened.

Every driver install i used DDU to clean.

So, someone had the same?! I'm really thinking that is a hardware problem and in Brazil we dont hava technical assist from Razer.

Ty and sorry for my bad english

Yes at staring OS, mine also kicks on, but after that silent, though opening file folder doesn’t kick my Fans. You can ask the professional on support and provide them the video, I think it’ll help you more, since we’re only sharing the user experiences here.
Did you also try on Creator 1703, with rolling back to previous version? I know someone from there who knows quite good the Blade maybe you can PM and ask him with Portuguese, he’s Insiders name is @vistar .
Edit: did you also see this nvidia thread?

    Just a little update:
My Acer Predator XB252Q (1080p/240Hz) has arrived and I´ve immediatly conntected it to my Razer Blade 14 (2017) through the HDMI port but it didn´t show me more than 60Hz. I also tried it with a USB typ-c to HDMI cable but the result was the same. Now I´m not sure if it is a problem with the monitor or if it´s just not possible to get more than 60Hz through the HDMI port. So now I´ve ordered an USB typ-c to displayport. I guess this will work but I was hoping to use the HDMI port :/

Does anybody else use their razer balde 14 with an external monitor that has more than 60 Hz through the HDMI port?

Edit: Acer support just sent me a message. 240 Hz and G-Sync are only supported through the display port. So the HDMI port can´t work.

What do you want to say with your statement?

Hmm, its HDMI 2.0 should also support more than 60Hz (144/120Hz), the support right but shouldn’t it at least output 120Hz? I had also LG gaming monitor (FreeSync 144Hz), worked well with HDMI, didn’t higher FPS option show on the game setting?
What games are you playing btw? On that LG24 GM Overwatch could reach max refresh rate, AC Origins on high higher FPS could reach 80.

I’m interested in purchasing a Razer Blade but would want more powerful graphics in this smaller form factor 14” case. Will they be switching up to the GTX 1080 in the future, or should I be looking at other company’s products?

A 1080 will never be in the Razer Blade 14, the Razer Blade Pro 17 can't keep it cool without throttling.

The closest you will get is the ROG Zephyrus or Acer Triton with a 1080 Max-Q, and those are both 15.6 inch.

Volta hasn't been announced yet, but if we saw a similar increase in performance they might be able to squeeze in current 1080 performance for the same TDP in that generation blade as an 1160, but it could be a year out still and there would be more powerful 1170 / 1180 cards out there as well.
