Got my RBP back from RMA (freezing/crashing issues), and I've just gotten around to playing with it extensively. No freezing or crashing so far, but the piece that covers the electronics connecting the body to the screen is coming off. So frustrating since this if just the small kinks were worked out, it'd be the best laptop ever made. If I wasn't past my return period I would just return this thing. I don't want to know the problems I'll encounter after a year with it.

Edit: After sending Razer a message, they did offer to take a return as long as it wasn't physically damaged. I replied that there was no other physical damage other than the plastic piece coming off, and decided to take a closer look. Upon closer inspection on the reverse side on the lid, I noticed a small nick, and the nick was preventing the plastic piece from snapping back on. It dawned on me that it must have gotten damaged when I was forced to check my carry-on baggage before a flight where the plane was too small to store bags overhead. I went to put the machine in the luggage I stored it in, and lo and behold, the nick lines up with small metal piece behind the luggage fabric. This is actually somewhat relieving to me as it's not a manufacturing issue. However, because razer sent me a message back on my previously closed thread, I don't think I'm unable to respond.

If anyone from razer is reading this, you can close my case. It was my own fault!! :)

i feel your pain. I'm waiting for my 3rd laptop from Razer (RMA'd twice for crashing and fan rattling issues). I too love this laptop, despite its many flaws. It's like a ferrari, it will break down a lot and is expensive as hell, but damn does it put a smile on your face when you look at it parked in your garage and take it out for a drive

Just an update on my RBP, I have experienced this twice so far while playing R6 siege and Overwatch the laptop will completely shutdown like completely losing power.

I looked and I found a post on reddit with others having the same issue, turns out because the laptop gets somewhat warm during gaming the SSDs in Raid get too warm beyond their threshold and causes the whole system to shut off to protect it from any damage.

I really like this system unfortunately I'll be returning it because I don't want this to happen while I'm gaming on a system that costs $4000+ totally unacceptable.

I feel your pain. I just got my 3rd Razer Blade Pro today. I hope it doesn't have any of the fan rattles or hard shut offs like the other 2.

I'm wondering: will the Pro also get the Kaby Lake treatment? And, if so, when?

The real question is how much of a performance difference will it offer really?

    Wrong.
We already know the answer to that "real" question: not that much.
BUT: that's decidedly *not* what I was asking or care about.

Now, if Razer for some unimaginable reason decided to replace
that 7700HQ by a 7820HQ, all of a sudden I'd start to care. A lot...

I lose brightness control when updating the latest NVidia drivers on my pro. Does anyone else have this problem? Only the drivers off razer's site seem to work. Any ideas anyone?

Question to all the RBP owners, does the palm rest below the keyboard gets warm and sometimes hot under long gaming sessions? Are you guys using any cooling pads or anything to lift the RBP above the surface?

I'm just using it on a regular wooden desk.

So if you do a clean upgrade on the driver, then brightness ability goes away. Downgrade back to the one on support and install via the express settings and it fixes that.

Just wondering are there any people that bought the RBP and hasn't had any issues?

So I have been having huge issues with it just turning off and the computer thinking it isn't plugged in anymore while doing intensive things.

I figured seeing as how synapse is pretty terrible, it probably has something to do with their "optimizations" for the fan and stuff. So I quit synapse and cortex, and I haven't really had any issues since. It seems if you let windows handle things like power and fans like you are supposed to, it's all good.

I've been lucky so far and haven't had any issues. No shutdowns, crashes or anything

Well, i have a really strange problem with my RBP, works great until i play games like csgo with multicore enabled in graphics option (csgo) all full 4x maxed out it runs well and drop down to 30fps por 3 to 5 secs, this repeats over and over, and guess what (for peaple that have the same problem) actually when the fps drop to 30 the charger auto disconnects the power for some reason, so this only happend with some games to me, like dota 2, csgo, i try Throttle Stop 8.30 without turbo mode, it works really great but when the turbo of the processor is enabled, same thing happend, this could be the charger or a hardware issue?

    Regards

What are your Nvidia control panel options set to? Here are my current settings and I don't run into any issues with the Jan. 4 Nvidia drivers from razer support.

Same here, only change I have made was to remove the RAID and run the drives individually. Not a problem with the RBP as I have removed RAID 0 setups from laptops in the past as it is not a great config. for my needs.
