It is quiet but i cant really tell since the fans on the Core V2 are so much louder xD

every now and t hen my core v1 seems to exhibit lag, is that something that is normal ?

(even when connecting to an external display and with 0 usb devices connected to the core)

A lot quieter than the fans in the core v2, guaranteed. V1 was much better for noise.

I thought I might have. I'll just have to hold out for another sale. Thanks!

aha, heard of people replacing the core V2 fans, got any idea of how to or what fans to use?

You need to find a fan that is (a) 60mmx10mm (b) quieter than the fans in the core already (c) 4-wire (ideally).

I had ordered the Sanyo 9GA0612L9001, it's only 3 wire but they are very quiet even at full speed yet still move quite a lot of air.

After playing with these fans and the ones in the Core and doing some comparing and checking with an IR camera I decided to just unplug the thermal sensor so the fans stay at idle speed, pretty much silent. For my modest need (75w GPU) it works great. I had found the connector that they use on the fan but for the life of me, I can't believe I didn't save a link anywhere.

I guess if I have a fan fail I have replacements ready to go :)

With my V1, I've found that a powered hub that lets the uplink port be leeched back into the Core resolves my stuttering issues. It seems like it just has power draw issues when devices need more current (which would explain why some people have no issues and some have repeat issues no matter how many Cores they RMA.).

Notice your portable backup won't register, but your low power devices (deathstalker) works. The HDD pulls a lot of current.

For those who looking for travel bag for core, i would recommend Razer basic messengers bag, it could fit well both Stealth and core. Well if you’re strong enough to carry around 7kg around;)

Thank you for the good thinking! I did however try that before i posted - the devices that do not work also do not work connected via a powered usb hub (us robotics usb 3.0 hub) that is uplinked to the core v2.

bump for an answer, does anyone else have the same issue I have? I wonder if its just a core v1 thing ...

I can play now, AC syndicate all max 99% 60FPS, overwatch on Epic steady 60FPS on its internal display 1440p Vsync on. Cant wait to test it on 4K Monitor:)
Due the CPU, 3D Mark results isn't so impressive though, don't really care;)
Btw the Fan loudness was max 52dB, I put my phone directly on the Core, and I played with the games installed on 2,5 HDD plugged directly on the core, also Xbox controller, and external DVD slot.
    Okay come here big brother:)

Sounds like a GPU driver thing.

I think i can reach Blade Pro 3DMark score on Blade 14
I think those slightly different, won’t give a huge difference in real world games performance, well done Razer.
It was fun walking around in ancient Egypt on 4K all maxed, only avarage 42 FPS, i think Desktop version couldnt get 60FPS on this game.
And Overwatch 4K Epic steady 60, i think i should set V-sync off.
The Fans are slightly better, hard to reach 50dB, only at full load.
Hmm, btw this card could be OC-ed right;)

Running latest amd drivers. would you suggest rolling it back?

I had similar "lag" issues with the quadro 2000m in my w520 with optimus enabled. At some point the driver was automatically updated and while I was getting 300-400fps in UT2k4, several times a second the game would freeze for 40-50ms or so.

Disabling optimus (who cares about battery life on a machine like that) prevented whichever broken update from being installed again, and doing a system restore to rollback the driver fixed it.

It may be helpful for a better definition of what sort of "lag" you are experiencing.
