I'd say it's very safe to say we are looking at an early 2018 model instead.

Volta + Coffe Lake + Smaller Bezels, that is my bet.

The problem is, that the Volta may not come at the time of the refresh, because NVIDIA has a little competition, and they understand, that they still can sell Pascal, and that is exactly what they do.

Its true that Pascal still is the best, but according to this source http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/nvidia-volta-specs-release-date-technology-rumours-2952823 we might get Volta in Q1 2018. While its a fact that Nvidia has no hurry, they still need to provide something new to PC/Notebook manufacters and even GPU manufacters, otherwise the business for these guys will be damaged and eventually can damage back Nvidia. All this said with the fact that Pascal gamer GPUs are from around June 2016, a lot of time has passed already!!

I agree, though even if desktop version of Volta will be announced at Q1, the mobile version of 2060/1160 will reach laptop manufacturers much later.

Razer definitely needs to wait for GPU refresh before they release the next model Blade. The only other thing they could do if Volta isn't ready is to up the 1060's to 1070 cards in the 14 inch Blades. I think it makes more sense to wait unless they have a plan for better heat dissipation.

  7. Right now there's nothing new with an official launch to put in a new Blade. We can hope that there will be an i7-8700HQ with six H/T cores, which on its own would be enough to justify a refresh, but that's not going to happen this side of Festivus. With NVIDIA, I'm hoping Razer focus more on the MaxQ initiative, and get a 1080 crammed into the Blade without increasing the size or weight.

While I'm dreaming, here's my updated wishlist on top of the new CPU and GPU:
    • 4K OLED non-touch matte screen
    • Four USB-C/TB3 ports, two on each side
    • Keep the HDMI port for VR though
    • Upgradable RAM
    • Dual NVMe SSDs, option to RAID-0 them
    • 4K OLED non-touch matte screen
      • I know I've put that twice, but it's really important
    • Less sharp bit where your wrists go
    • Maybe make the screen 15" with thinner bezels so the size stays the same
    • Regardless of size, though, there should be a 4K OLED non-touch matte screen option
    • Shiny screens on laptops are like capes on superheroes

  8. What I would like to see in the next razer blade or razer blade pro
1.Thinner bezels much like your new stealth model
    2. gunmetal of both pro and normal blade
    3. (not that important but would be nice) even though gunmetal is supposed to be a minimalist look, i still would consider including the chroma keyboard within the gunmetal versions
4.move the mouse pad from the side to the bottom like the others.
5.add the precision mouse pad to blade and pro( if you can make it larger like macbook pro, alittle smaller is fine)
6.120hz panel would be nice for the variants that you know can push around those frames in most titles

You can order from notebooks.de or Amazon, can’t you? Maybe they don’t have nl layout though. Btw I’m also jealous of your mug!;)
They always do and I bought three times always with around €300 gifts.

For the all the key to light up. I have many computers with light up keyboards and the whole key lights up. Not just part of it. I think it would look nicer as well. Maybe a finish that resists fingerprints. So I don't need a skin. Maybe work with Arctic for better fans. The new 2017s models are a lot better. But still room for improvement.

A critical element not mentioned about the keyboard that may be important to others is that the chroma backlighting fails to light the ~!@#$%^&*()_+":?>< symbols and your FN row. It makes writing and coding at night a chore. My 600 dollar laptop has every key lite up.

I think it would be awesome to see a Razer docking system. It would be a Graphic card (You chose the card like you do the core) a cooling system. And a battery power bost. For the stealth, you could use a 1080 card. For the Razer blade, you can use the 1060 and it runs in SLI. And then with the pro, you could use the 1080 and it would run in SLI.

I agree on your statement, tho i have my own razer blade 14 bought from a company in Friesland wich imported 10 of these blades :)!

You are right, these keys should light up. I am a programmer aswell and this really bugs me..

It would be a dream but running those cards in SLI is no option for Razer, i think this is up to NVIDIA/AMD to make this happen.

Hopefully they fix the motherboard so that there is no performance loss through the TB3 connection when using the Razer Core.

Is there any laptop that not loosing performance with TB3 eGPU setting? When I’m not wrong Alienware get full performance because they are using different connection not TB3, right?

It doesn't have to to with TB3 per say. It's just that when you plug in the TB3 into the current blade that port on the motherboard is being shared by other I/O. It is not a dedicated lane on the MB for that TB3 connection. If they designed the MB to have a dedicated lane for GPU you would see less or no performance hit with the Core.

I see, it could be a reason why some users has randomly disconnection issue with USB C docking or Hub when they plug several pheriperals on it, in my case especially mouse (ex HDD& driver, gamepad have no issue) has the issue when playing games which used the GPU extremely.

The random disconnects you are seeing will be resolved with the new Core. Them adding a dedicated lane for the GPU on the Core itself should resolve that!
